Raw Cacao Beans
1 product
Venezuela Sur del Lago
The cacao fruit contains large beans 1 to 3 cm long. After they are removed from the fruit, they undergo a process of fermentation for several days, followed by drying and roasting. This is how the raw material is obtained, from which, after grinding, cacao paste and then: real chocolate is made.
Use of cacao beans
During chocolate production, raw cacao beans are dried and roasted before grinding – this allows them to bring out the right flavour profile and also kills microorganisms. Therefore, raw seeds ordered from our shop are not suitable for direct consumption – they must be roasted in a dry pan beforehand.
Cacao beans with Bio, Fairtrade, and Rainforest certification
We strive to ensure that there is no shortage of certified products in our cacao bean offer. We are talking about beans from organic and sustainable plantations, but also those produced with care for Fair Trade principles and the state of the rainforest. So, we supply cacao not only certified organic/organic, but also Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance certified beans.
Wholesale quantities of raw cacao beans
Our raw cacao beans can be ordered not only at retail, but also as a wholesale option. While a 25-kg pack will be ideal for a small shop or café, a large manufacturer of chocolate or other confectionery products can source whole containers of beans from us!
Delivery times for wholesale batches of cacao depend on the availability of the specific product and the size of the order, but we always aim for the goods to arrive within a few days or weeks.
