Tavoletta Gianduia Italian chocolate with hazelnuts

Tavoletta Gianduia by Romeo Viganotti is a chocolate bar that represents the tradition of Italian chocolate making. This product is an expression of the skill and dedication that have defined the Viganotti brand for four generations. The chocolate is produced in the original workshop in the heart of Genoa, where the machines and moulds date back to the old days and the recipes are passed down from generation to generation.

The key ingredient in Tavolette Gianduia is Nocciola Piemonte IGP – hazelnuts from the Piedmont region. These extraordinary nuts are known for their intense aroma and distinctive flavour, which give the chocolate its unique character.

The second basic ingredient is cocoa beans from the Dominican Republic. This combination of European nuts and South American cocoa creates a harmonious balance of flavours.

Gianduja is characterised by a soft, creamy texture that is much more delicate than standard chocolate. This unique consistency is due to the presence of natural hazelnut oil, which is liquid at room temperature, unlike cocoa butter.

Romeo Viganotti is a legendary Genoese chocolate manufacturer, founded in 1866, which has maintained the highest standards of artisan chocolate production for over 150 years.  Tavoletta Gianduia is the perfect representation of Italian chocolate-making tradition, combining the finest ingredients from Italy and from far corners of the world.

According to gianduia tradition, real chocolate of this type must contain at least 30% hazelnut paste, which gives it its characteristic texture and flavour. However, Viganotti’s artisan gianduia recipes may contain an even higher percentage, making the product even creamier and nuttier.
