Located between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, influenced by the volcanic mountain range in the centre of the country, Costa Rica still preserves the great wealth of its nature and is recognized as one of the most advanced countries in terms of environmental protection.

Upala cocoa, originating from the border areas with Nicaragua, is characterized by a sweet and delicate profile reminiscent of toffee or milk caramel, as well as a creamy flavour with hints of coffee and walnuts, giving this chocolate bar depth and complexity.

Since cocoa has little bitterness and acidity, leading to a sense of greater sweetness in the chocolate, we decided to increase the cocoa content, making it exceptionally dark, with 76% cocoa, which provides flavour notes such as peanuts, almonds or hazelnuts, with subtle hints of mustard.
