Cocoa butter
Cocoa fat, also known as cocoa butter, is a unique product that has two primary uses. First, it is an intermediate product for making chocolate, and second, you can use it to make your own unique cosmetic cream - or simply apply the butter directly to your skin!
The name „cocoa butter” suggests that this product has the consistency of ordinary butter, but this is not quite true: after all, at room temperature cocoa butter is slightly harder. It also has an intense yellow color, sometimes broken by a natural white coating composed of precipitated fat particles.
Natural or deodorized cocoa butter
Cocoa butter comes in two types. The first is natural butter, which is characterized by a deep chocolate aroma. The second is deodorized butter, which means that it is devoid of the aroma of cacao. Both types have similar properties, but differ in their applications.
Uses of cocoa fat
Natural cocoa butter is a real rarity for our skin. You can use it to prepare your own homemade cream or apply the butter directly to the skin. Cocoa fat has brightening properties, regenerates and nourishes the complexion, and removes blemishes. If you like your skin to smell like chocolate, choose a natural butter; if you prefer a neutral scent, reach for a deodorized version.
In addition to cosmetic uses, cocoa butter is also suitable for cooking. Cocoa fat is very stable and works well as an intermediate product for making milk and white chocolate and other confectionery products.
